Julie Layzell, (b.1991, South Africa)
South African born photographer Julie Layzell, studied at the Manukau School Of Visual Arts in New Zealand for four years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Arts in 2012 and is currently expanding her photography career. Her primary concerns deal with advertising and contemporary fashion photography. She has completed several photographic briefs for several types of clients, including peers, schools and other individuals. Working for several years at Spookers LTD, (A haunted Attraction in Kingseat, New Zealand) she has become proficient in stage and horror FX make-up. This has earned her several awards for "Best Make-up - Female", 2009, 2010, and 2011 in an annual employee awards ceremony. These techniques have strongly influenced her photographic style.
Julie Layzell is proficient in photography lighting set-ups both in the studio and out on location. Photoshop, Lightroom, and In-design are skills she has practiced within her years of education. Layzell has also had experience in photographing large groups of people in a fast-paced environment, crucial to her previous job's tourist and client sales.
